Volunteer: Cairn removal

Rhyd Ddu path, Yr Wyddfa – 09:00 – 15:00

Join us as we dismantle modern cairns on Yr Wyddfa’s Rhyd Ddu path, removing the stones from stacks and placing them back on the path where they were first removed.

Cairns can cause problems as are often built too close to each other and grow so large they completely obstruct paths, causing unsafe diversions. Footpath drainage can also get blocked or damaged, causing erosion to paths.

This is an opportunity to be involved in maintaining access routes to Yr Wyddfa for future generations to enjoy.

Please book using our volunteer software My Impact.  The first time you use our new system, My Impact, you will create an account. Once registered and approved by an administrator, you will be able to book yourself on volunteer days, without having to wait for a response from an administrator. We hope that this will make the booking system easier for you as volunteers.
