‘Secret Snowdonia’: Theme announced for 2019 photo competition

‘Secret Snowdonia’: Theme announced for 2019 photo competition

After the success of last year’s competition, the Snowdonia Society has revealed it will once again host a photo competition for 2019, with the theme Secret Snowdonia.

Rare animals… unique plants… secret hidey holes… different views… unusual angles… Snowdonia is brimming with hidden gems – right in front of our eyes. Do you have a photo which reflects a secret of Snowdonia? Do you fancy looking at the world in a different way and capturing it on camera? Why not enter our Secret Snowdonia photo competition?

Owain Thomas, Snowdonia Society project officer and keen photographer, said: “Snowdonia is the biggest National Park in Wales yet we often see the same places crop up in photos”. He added: “We want this year’s theme to evoke some of the lesser known aspects of the National Park.”

Entrants are invited to submit one photo they feel best captures the theme ‘Secret Snowdonia’. 12 winning images will be selected after the competition deadline on Sunday 30 June and will go into a calendar for 2020. There will be prizes donated by our Business Members for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, and a talk by outdoor photo-journalist Ray Wood on Friday 27th September at Plas y Brenin for winners and the public.
