Free Accredited Training in August

Accredited Unit: Maintaining Mountain and Lowland Footpaths

In the summer of 2018, the Snowdonia Society launched a new accredited unit in footpath maintenance. This unit allows you to learn and demonstrate your footpath maintenance skills – and is a useful addition to your CV. This unit is ideal for those who wish to have a more formal way of demonstrating their practical experience.

In 2021 we are teaming up with the National Trust footpath team to bring you 4 days in August to take part.

By undertaking this unit, you will:
• Identify and clear blocked drains and culverts
• Pick up and survey litter
• Check and clean tools before and after use

Paper work is very light, requiring you only to write a short paragraph about your experience.

When can I take part?

This unit takes only a day to complete so it is doable for everyone. Subject to sufficient interest, we currently have the following dates available, which will all be held at various locations in North Snowodnia.

Available dates:

Tuesday 3/08- Watkin Path (Nant Gwynant)
Saturday 14/08- Aberglaslyn/ Bryn Du (Nantmor)
Tuesday 17/08- Y Garn (Ogwen)
Tuesday 24/08- Cwm Bochlwyd/ Cwm Tryfan (Ogwen)
