Snowdonia supporters, we need you!

Snowdonia supporters, we need you!

We’ve been shortlisted for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge with our proposed Nature Recovery Snowdonia campaign.

A nature emergency has been declared by government. The Snowdonia Society is planning to deliver 100 conservation action days in 2022 as part of our response to the emergency.

But there’s urgent work to be done: we need to raise £6500 in pledges by 27th August to qualify for the next round of funds. With these pledges in place from our supporters, we’ll be able to unlock further funding to double donations made during the campaign this December.

What you can do to help us now

Please consider a pledge of £100 or more before the pledge deadline on 27 August 2021. By becoming a Pledger you are committing to making a donation of the amount pledged. These pledges will be matched with donations and will draw down match funding provided by the Big Give.  In effect every £1 you pledge could return £4 for conservation action in Snowdonia.

About our campaign

Nature Recovery in Snowdonia is our campaign to give more people the chance to restore nature, tackle climate change and respond to visitor pressures in Snowdonia

Nature needs our help. If our campaign is successful, we promise to use funds to:

  • Deliver 100 conservation action days in 2022. For each activity we will provide the training, tools, materials and protective equipment.
  • Focus on actions that restore nature and tackle climate change:  protecting and enhancing peatlands, wetlands and woodlands
  • Execute a powerful public messaging campaign to raise the profile of peatlands, their unique biodiversity and their role in carbon storage, and help people to help protect and restore them.
  • Involve schools in and around Snowdonia: give children the chance to learn how to help nature.
