Many thanks to those who attended the first members’ forum event on the 13th April. The Director updated members on the Society’s recent advocacy work. A really useful discussion ensued, helping shape how we inform and involve members in this important work to protect our beloved Snowdonia.
Dates for the next events will be advertised shortly – these will focus on individual topics in more detail.
Themes for the upcoming sessions include:
- Transport, with a major review starting in north Wales
- Carbon-offsetting, with fresh concerns about large scale plantation forestry in designated landscapes, set in a wider question of where we need more trees, less trees and better managed trees.
- Nature recovery, where National Parks should, and indeed must, play a leading role.
Do keep an eye out for the next sessions and come along – you’ll be in good company!
