Over to You: Have your say on National Park Plan
The Snowdonia Society has played a key part in developing the Cynllun Eryri Partnership Plan for a sustainable future for Snowdonia. Now it’s over to you – the people who live, work and play in the National Park – to have your say. This is what Snowdonia National Park Authority say about it:
From 3 February – 13 March 2020 the new National Park Partnership Plan called Cynllun Eryri will be open for final public consultation. It sets out in detail how we will work together to look after the Park and the things that make it unique for future generations, from it’s very northern tip where the mountains meet the sea at Penmaen-bach, to its southernmost point of Aberdyfi.
Cynllun Eryri reflects a change in the approach taken by the National Park Authority in creating a plan for managing Snowdonia. The plan has been developed in the true spirit of partnership. We’ve listened closely to the ideas, opinions and challenges of people who live and work here, and explored the needs of visitors. We’re working alongside organisations involved in looking after Snowdonia for future generations to develop this Plan. We’ve kept the Special Qualities* of Eryri at the heart of everything we do. We believe that by working together we can achieve great things.
Our Partnership Plan contains a set of ambitious outcomes and actions designed to keep Eryri exceptional. We are preparing for the political and environmental realities of the future through projects such as considering ‘plastic free’ zones within the National Park; working with local businesses on sustainable tourism; restoring peatlands to increase our carbon storage and celebrating the Welsh language and our rich cultural heritage.
When implemented, Cynllun Eryri will help achieve the National Park purposes and deliver on a number of significant national Welsh Government policy objectives, goals and priorities.
