A message from Rory Francis, our director

A thank you to all volunteers – and our future work

First, can I say a huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers, those who come out in all weathers and give generously of their time to make a difference to the places we all love. We’re really proud of our work with volunteers, but it is, of course, the volunteers themselves who make this all possible.

Second, I wish to say a huge thank you to Chelsea and Mary, who are both now leaving the Society for pastures new.   They have both played a central role in our practical conservation work and will be missed by staff, trustees, partners and volunteers alike.  I wish them every success in their future careers.

Third, as a result of this, we will be recruiting a new conservation team of three, starting with a Conservation Manager. This is possible thanks to a generous legacy which the Society received earlier this year. Please keep an eye out for the job advertisement on our website and bring it to the attention of anyone you think might be interested. It will be a great opportunity for someone energetic and dynamic, who wants to make a difference in Eryri.

In the interim, this will mean that we will have to temporarily reduce the number of volunteering events we organise. You will be able to see the events which are still going ahead on MyImpact and on our website. Please be assured that we are committed to our practical conservation work with volunteers and we aim to offer we the full range of volunteering events as soon as we can’.

So once again, a huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers. I look forward to seeing you at a practical conservation event in the future.
