Maria is running 5k to protect Snowdonia

Maria in training

And has already doubled her fundraising target!

Maria Jones is well on her way in her training to complete a personal 5k challenge. Hoping to raise £150, she has already more than doubled her target, with a current total of £320! The money raised will go towards the Society’s work of protecting and enhancing Snowdonia.

As I write, we have just been informed that Maria completed her 5k on 29th November, with a total raised of £335, plus Gift Aid. Congratulations!

Maria says, “As many of you will know, I am unfit and not a runner. I wanted to address this and decided to challenge myself and raise money for a worthwhile cause. I, myself, have volunteered on workdays for the Snowdonia Society and in turn have benefited from their free educational talks and training courses. I’d like to see this important work continue. So if you love Snowdonia, too, it’s not too late to donate!”

Maria’s hard-earned donations will go towards the Snowdonia Society’s practical actions to conserve habitats and raise awareness of important environmental issues.

Thank you to Maria and to all her sponsors! And it’s not too late to add your own donation. You can donate here on our website or via Maria’s page on JustGiving.com
