*POSTPONED* Tree Planting

Tree Planting, Nantmor

Booking essential; places limited

Come and join us and be part of the Celtic Rainforest Project, a project to protect our very own rainforests here in Wales. Much of the Society’s involvement in the past has been to control the invasive species Rhododendron ponticum; however, for this day the aim will be to expand the area of woodland in this region of Meirionnydd by planting native trees.

The area we will be planting on this day is a Special Area of Conservation and Site of Special Scientific interest, designated for its endangered and nationally scarce bryophytes and lesser horseshoe bat roosts.
The UK currently stands as one of the least wooded countries in Europe. If we wish to make a serious stand against climate change then increasing the number of trees is likely to play a key role.

We have clear protocols and risk assessments for coronavirus to allow us to carry out practical outdoor work as safely as possible. If you would like more information on these please get in touch. To ensure social distancing is always possible, the number of volunteers for each workday is strictly limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
