Trees that are planted need a bit of care to ensure they are thriving and going to succeed. We’ll join a National Trust ranger to do some maintenance work for trees that were planted some time ago, whether that is clearing vegetation from around them to ensure light and less competition or thinning or re-spacing the trees to ensure they have enough space to flourish. This vital work will help to ensure that these trees will be there for many decades to come, or longer, providing habitat and cover for many species of wildlife.

The National Trust estate of Ysbyty Ifan is an area of many small farms and is a quieter, less-well known part of Snowdonia. It’s worth visiting somewhere new and always worth giving nature a helping hand!
