Have you spotted this pesky pink plant beside a stream near you?

Himalayan balsam is a non-native invasive plant that spreads along rivers and streams. It multiplies and takes over rapidly to the detriment of other plants. It is also responsible for the erosion of river banks.

Friends of the Earth Conwy and other groups have been working to eradicate this pink pest from the Gyffin, Rowen and Conwy rivers and tributary streams. Learn why Himalayan balsam is a problem and how you can help, whilst enjoying tea and cake!
