Birthday Picnic at Dyffryn Mymbyr

Join us for our birthday picnic at Dyffryn Mymbyr

As the 10th of June marks our official 50th birthday, we will be holding a celebratory picnic with a walk and informal talks at the former home of Snowdonia Society’s founder, Esme Kirby. Join us in this spectacular location to mark this special day with members of the Society old and new; to celebrate the launch of our anniversary exhibition and, of course, to eat lots of cake! Note: There will be an opportunity for those attending to bring their own cake to enter a competition – prizes will be given on the day!

Programme for the day:

9:30am: Arrival of guests
10am-1pm:
A gentle walk along the Dyffryn Mymbyr valley, following in the footsteps of Esme Kirby & Thomas Firbank
1pm-2:30pm: Simple picnic lunch provided. Bring something tasty to share if you wish!
2:30pm-3pm: Talks spanning the first 50 years of the Snowdonia Society
3:15pm-4:45pm: Tea, cake and conversation. Prize giving for cake competition

Throughout the afternoon you will have the opportunity to have a ‘sneak preview’ of our 50th Anniversary Exhibition produced in association with the Friends of St Julitta’s church.

Booking essential. To register for this event, please contact Claire at:
