Coop Causes helps fund volunteer transport

Shopping at the Co-op Llanrwst will contribute!

Thank you to the Co-op for choosing the Snowdonia Society’s Ecosystem Project to benefit from their Local Community Fund.

The Co-op donates 1p from every £1 spent to local causes and for the next 6 months, the Project will receive a share of the fund generated from the Llanrwst Co-op store. This will help provide transport to enable school groups in rural areas and people from all walks of life to benefit from volunteering in Snowdonia.

With many volunteer workday sites far from a bus route, lack of private transport can pose a problem for volunteers joining our workdays. In order to make our volunteering opportunities open to all, the Snowdonia Ecosystem Project provides free transport from key locations to at least two workdays every month. This arrangement can also be extended to groups.

The Co-op says “The Co-op Local Community Fund is our way of giving back to our millions of members and their communities – providing funding to local causes that our members care about.”
