12 photo competition winners chosen for 2020 calendar

The twelve winners of the Snowdonia Society’s 2019 Photography Competition will see their shots of Snowdonia published in a calendar for next year. (You can purchase a calendar HERE)

After initial filtering, the final images were selected by competition judge Ray Wood, the eminent photo journalist based in North Wales.

Out of the twelve winners that made it through, first, second and third prizes were awarded for capturing the essence of the competition’s theme ‘Secret Snowdonia’ in their photos. First prize was awarded to Gareth Jones for his shot of a landing hen harrier; second prize to Jesal Hirani for her bumble bee in heather blossom; and third prize to Ivo Fiser for his ephemeral ridge shot through the clouds.

All twelve images will be featured in a calendar for 2020 which will go on sale next month in support of the Snowdonia Society’s work in the National Park.

The Snowdonia Society would like to thank all those that took part in the competition and to competition judge Ray Wood for the final selection.

We also thank the following Business members for donating prizes to the competition:
