Alun Pugh

Alun is the Director of the Society. He is responsible to the Trustees for all aspects of the Society's operations. He leads on policy and is the chief spokesperson for the Society. He spent 15 years as a college lecturer and manager before an an eight year period as an Assembly Member in Cardiff.

He is a keen mountaineer, having climbed and trekked in the Alps, Andes, Africa and the Himalayas as well as widely in the UK.

Bea Kelsall

Bea is a project officer who leads our Conservation Snowdonia project. She organises practical action workdays, and leads teams of volunteers on our various projects. Bea is currently heading up the Snowdonia Society's 'Rags2Riches' initiative, encouraging alternative solutions to plastic bag use and a reduction in textile rubbish. Bea is employed with financial support from CCW and the SNPA.

In her spare time Bea is currently renovating her cottage, learning welsh, and juggling a number of other projects.

Emma Edwards-Jones

Emma is a project officer who leads our Green Snowdonia project. She runs events for local businesses and maintains the project website. Dr. Edwards-Jones works on a part time basis is employed with financial support from CCW and the CAE fund which is administered by the SNPA.

Outside work, Emma divides her time between horses and children.

Sarah Medcalf

Sarah is the Assistant to the Director. She supports the Director and sub-committees in their roles and is responsible for administering the Society’s membership. She also updates the website, organises fund-raising events and coordinates preparations for the Society’s mailings and magazines.

Sarah has spent the last few years working as a freelance translator and speaks fluent French and German. In her spare time she likes being outdoors and active and particularly enjoys coastal rowing, running, mountain biking and climbing. Sarah is passionate about wildlife and conservation and also loves to discover new places, watch sunsets and bake cakes.
