Even one hour a month is enough to make a difference, please contact Sarah for more information.

Wildlife garden volunteers

Volunteers at Ty Hyll have worked hard to make our garden and woodland more wildlife friendly. If you're interested in wildlife gardening, find out more about our garden and how you can help here.

Conservation Snowdonia & Rags2Riches

Bea Kelsall is our Conservation Snowdonia project officer and runs a variety of practical work days throughout the year. Our volunteers work hard on rhododendron clearance, footpath maintenance and beach cleans, to name just a few of their regular tasks. Contact Bea for more information.

Bea has also successfully initiated and carried out a series of fabric bag making workshops and sales, in an effort to engage local communities and reduce our dependence on plastic bags, encourage people to recyle and introduce a  sustainable alternative. This exciting project is ongoing, find out more here.

Long-term opportunities with the National Trust

If you're looking for a long-term volunteering position or you're from outside Snowdonia and would love to spend time here and make a practical contribution, the National Trust offers a number of opportunities.

The National Trust campsite at Hafod y Llan (Nant Gwynant) is currently recruiting a campsite warden. Hafod y Llan is the Trust's organic farm, which runs to the summit of Snowdon. The Snowdonia Society made a contribution towards the purchase of the farm in 1998. The small campsite offers access to amazing mountain walks, rivers and lakes. The warden's duties include cleaning, collecting campsite fees, mowing the grass, ensuring there is plenty of firewood and general maintenance. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy your beautiful surroundings. Accommodation is provided in a recently refurbished wooden chalet for a period of 8 months. Suitable for a couple or individual. Contact Eirian at the National Trust for more information or call 01766 510 120.
