Our new style website is one year old. 76 members have joined on-line since the new system went live a year ago.
Most homes and offices in the UK have access to the internet. The rapid growth in internet usage was a key reason why the Society made a modest investment in a new website. The new site offering on-line joining, an automated subscription service to our e-newsletter and a constantly updated set of news and features replaced a very basic set of web pages.
We are delighted that so many new members have come to the charity via the Internet. Their support has helped us enormously during what has been a really difficult time for the whole charity sector.
There is a lot going on here in Ty Hyll at the moment. We are awaiting news of our funding bids for our conservation and green tourism projects, we are putting the final touches to our summer events programme and thousands of copies of our magazine will shortly be winging their way to members' homes in the next month. If you are not a member please join us and help our work in the Snowdonia National Park.
We will also be making some changes to the website to improve its functionality, including gift memberships. We had a telephone calls from members asking for gift memberships for family and friends before Christmas - we will now make this easier by setting up an on-line version. We will also be taking the opportunity to put an easy link to a Society video we made last year which we have now uploaded to youtube. It will appear on the front page - but if you can't wait just click here!
This website now has some siblings! There is the 14peaks.com site and a soon to be relaunched green snowdonia site. The Society will be maintaining a family of websites making Snowdonia and this charity's work visible on millions of computers all around the World.
