The Society runs a programme of walks and other events throughout the year, with walks to suit all interests and ability ranges. See our latest programme below, or download your own copy.
Members can attend Society events at a reduced rate, but non-members are also welcome. Why not join the Society or contact us to sign up to our e-newsletter and we will keep you posted?
We invite a suggested donation of £3 for members and £5 for non-members for attendance on all events unless otherwise specified.

Sat 4th ‘From the Rock’ Guided walk to see Blaenau Ffestiniog’s recent transformation and view Falcon Hildred’s industrial archaeology paintings at his mill house.
Sat 11th Bala Challenge Charity Walk

Fri 21st Into The Dawn Celebrate the summer solstice with an all night full traverse of the Carneddau led by Alun Pugh. Lots of uphill, so good level of fitness required. Extra charge for bus pick-up. Book early to avoid disappointment. (Bilingual leader)

Weds 10th Geology of the Llanberis Pass Paul Gannon will lead a walk looking at the stunning geology and scenery of the Llanberis Pass, the centre of Snowdonia’s biggest volcanic eruptions some 450 million years ago. 10am - 3pm approx.

The plants Bethan Wyn Jones will talk about tonight may be unknown to you, but for previous generations recognising and knowing how to use them was a necessity for the health of the family. Bilingual evening presentation, Abergwyngregyn.
August
Fri 9th Challenging Mountain Walk with Rob Collister. An Abergwyngregyn horseshoe taking in the summits of Llwytmor, Foel Fras, Carnedd Gwenllian and Drosgl. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Wed 21st All Ability Walk, Abergwyngregyn, with Netti Collister. A visit to the waterfalls on well maintained paths suitable for wheelchairs, learning about the archaeology and wildlife of this lovely valley as we go. Return to Caffi Hen Felin for lunch. Assistance can be provided for those needing it, to be booked in advance.
Weds 28th Fungi Foray and Fry-up A guided fungi walk through the Aberglaslyn Gorge with Cynan Jones showing you how to identify edible, poisonous and fascinating fungi. Finish with a fry up at his Mushroom Garden. Return along the Fisherman’s Walk or catch the steam train from Nantmor. 12 - 4pm approx. £5/£8, booking essential. (Bilingual leader)

Sat 14th Annual Dry Stone Walling Competition & Egryn Open Day, Barmouth. Come and watch this traditional craft in action, and take advantage of a rare opportunity to explore this early C16th hall house and archaeological features on the farm. Contact us to compete, for details of guided walks and admission costs.
Sun 29th Snowdonia Underground, Tŷ Gwyn Mine, Llandudno. Another opportunity to explore one of Snowdonia’s underground workings not usually open to the public. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Book early to avoid disappointment. £5/£8
